Jamey Woods Named New Varsity Baseball Coach

JUN. 18 -- Mount Pisgah Christian School is pleased to introduce Jamey Woods as its new varsity baseball coach, adding a veteran leader and educator with a proven record of guiding winning programs.

Woods comes to Mount Pisgah after spending the past four years at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School where he coached baseball and taught health and physical education in grades K-6. Woods will continue in his teaching roles at Mount Pisgah.

In his new role, Woods will take the helm of the Patriots baseball program, effective immediately. He is helping coach at this week's three-day summer baseball camp at the Patriot Athletic Campus.

On the baseball diamond at Mount Vernon, Woods turned a two-win program into a team that qualified for the GHSA playoffs the past three years. In 2017, Woods guided Mount Vernon to Game 3 of the second round of the playoffs.

Prior to Mount Vernon, Woods held a variety of baseball coaching and leadership positions throughout the southeast. He served as Director of Baseball Operations for Sports-A-Rama of East Cobb from 2006-2013; associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at both Calhoun Community College (Tanner, AL) from 2005-06 and Jefferson Davis Community College (Brewton, AL) from 2004-05; head baseball coach at Bulloch Academy (Statesboro, GA) from 2000-2003; and International envoy coach for Major League Baseball International from 1999-2006.

At Calhoun, Woods restarted the baseball program, helping guide the team to a 42-17 record in its first season. At Jefferson Davis, the team finished 41-15, winning the conference championship. After winning one game during his first season at Bulloch Academy, Woods's team posted consecutive winning seasons in his final two years.

We're happy to welcome coach Woods to the Mount Pisgah family.
