Years Coaching: 16 years

Years at Mount Pisgah: 11 years

Playing/Coaching Experience: Gene wrestled at Tekamah Herman High School and was a four year letterman. He was ranked 1st in state his senior year and helped his team to a top five finish in the national rankings among high school teams. He also wrestled for UWFI in Japan for seven years, which is a combination of Thai Kick boxing and Greco/Freestyle wrestling. Most recently he helped coach his son to a 5A Georgia State Championship and 7th place at the Cedar Falls Iowa Nationals.

Education: Graduated from the University of Nebraska - Omaha.

Family: He and his wife, Rosa, have two sons, Joe and Josh.
